| Contents | We refer to the article published on page 1 of The Edge Financial Daily dated 16 April 2010 titled “Affin submits rival bid for EONCap” and in particular to the following sentences which appeared in the said article: “Affin, controlled by Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) and its foreign partner Hong Kong’s Bank of East Asia Ltd, had put in a revised proposal for EON Capital Bhd to Bank Negara Malaysia to rival HLBB’s offer. “This is the third time Affin has submitted a proposal for EONCap. It is believed that the offer is higher than HLBB offer and it includes a share equity element,” said a source familiar with the matter.” The Board of Directors of AFFIN Holdings Berhad (“AFFIN”) wishes to clarify that the reported statement as published by The Edge Financial Daily is inaccurate, as AFFIN has not submitted any proposal to Bank Negara Malaysia in relation to the acquisition of any interest in EON Capital Berhad.
