| Contents | We wish to announce that the Board of Directors (“Board”) of AHB had taken note and agreed to the request of Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Sri Abdul Hamidy bin Abdul Hafiz (“Dato’ Sri Abdul Hamidy”) not to extend his contract of employment as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of AFFIN Bank Berhad, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AHB. YBhg Dato’ Sri Abdul Hamidy ceased to be the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of AFFIN Bank Berhad on 31 March 2009. He had also resigned as a director of AFFIN Bank Berhad, AFFIN Islamic Bank Berhad, AFFIN Capital Sdn Bhd and AFFIN Investment Bank Berhad effective from 16 March 2009. In this connection, Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”) had, vide its letter dated 31 March 2009, approved the appointment of Encik Zulkiflee Abbas bin Abdul Hamid as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AFFIN Bank Berhad for a period of 2 years commencing from the effective date of his appointment of 1 April 2009. BNM has also taken note of Dato’ Sri Abdul Hamidy’s notice not to extend his contract of employment as the Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer of AFFIN Bank Berhad effective 31 March 2009. This announcement is dated 1 April 2009. |
