KUALA LUMPUR – About 100 staff of AFFINBANK Group (AFFINBANK or the Bank) recently volunteered at the Pertubuhan Tindakan Wanita Islam (PERTIWI) Soup Kitchen Project to help feed the homeless and hard core poor community.

During the volunteering sessions which were spread over three separate nights, the Bank’s staff, inclusive of members of Senior Management helped out in making sardine sandwiches before distributing food, drinks and ice cream, sponsored by AFFINBANK at the food stations set up by PERTIWI at the Medan Tuanku area, Kuala Lumpur.

“It was indeed a good experience for our staff, in giving back to the society through this initiative, and we would like to thank PERTIWI for giving us the opportunity,” said En. Kamarul Ariffin Mohd Jamil, Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, AFFINBANK.

PERTIWI is an organisation that is dedicated towards addressing the welfare and needs of marginalised groups in Malaysia. The mobile soup kitchen project which began in 2010 provides free meals and other forms of assistance to the homeless and hardcore poor people around Kuala Lumpur.
