| Contents | The Board of Directors of AFFIN Holdings Berhad (“Board”) wishes to announce that Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”) had vide its letter dated 27 February 2009 (received on 2 March 2009) stated that it has no objection in principle for AFFIN Holdings Berhad and AXA Asia Pacific General Insurance to commence preliminary negotiations with Felda Holdings Bhd or any other designated entity within its Group of Companies (Felda) on the proposed acquisition of Felda’s equity interest in BH Insurance. The approval in principle from BNM for commencement of the negotiations is not an approval for the acquisition of equity interest in BH Insurance. The Board expects negotiations to commence soon and further announcement of any relevant development will be made to Bursa Malaysia. This announcement is dated 3 March 2009. |
